Kristine Wylie is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University. She began working in the field of genomics more than 20 years ago during the Human Genome Project. Her research has since evolved to studies that use genomics to understand the microbiome and infectious diseases. In the current SEPA program, she and the team at Washington University aim to introduce high school students to bioinformatics and genomics, provide research opportunities, and support college preparation activities to increase the number of underrepresented minorities who pursue future education in the field of genomics/genetics.
