Earlier this month, children getting their COVID-19 vaccine or booster at two health departments in Lafayette, Indiana, received a special Vaccine SuperPower Pack, courtesy of the League of VetaHumanz, a program supported by a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) through the National Institutes of Health.

The League of VetaHumanz comprises a diverse, inclusive, unified group of veterinarians and veterinarians in training who wield their superpowers to protect animal health and public health across the globe. Besides improving health literacy and reducing health disparities among people and animals, VetaHumanz create and deliver STEM resources that provide K-12 students with diverse and relatable veterinary role models who communicate the positive impact of veterinary medical research on public health and animal health.

Each Vaccine SuperPower Pack provided by the League of VetaHumanz contained a children’s book that teaches kids about vaccines in people and animals, a special superhero face mask, and collectible cards.
