Congratulations!
Congratulations are in order for three of our SEPA community. Ann Chester, John Pollock and Virginia Shepherd, each of whom received a Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring. This is the highest national honor bestowed upon mentors who work to expand STEM talent. Protégés are students and early career STEM and STEM-related professionals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, women, persons with disabilities and persons from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
The three individual awardees have long demonstrated their commitment to education and serving as mentors to level the playing field in STEM-related education and careers. We sincerely congratulate them for receiving this important award and thank them for their consistent and significant contributions to the SEPA program.
