As Director of Education at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine (JAX-GM), I oversee educational programs for student and trainee populations ranging from high school students through postdoctoral fellows. I am mPI on our Teaching the Genome Generation project, along with our VP of Education, Dr. Charlie Wray. I have over seventeen years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and program administration in the sciences, with an emphasis on promoting effective teaching practices and empowering future generations of the biomedical workforce. As both a scientist and an educator, I understand how to make contemporary complex scientific concepts more accessible and engaging for broad audiences. I am dedicated to providing high quality teacher training for science educators as a tool to provide them with resources needed to successfully teach their students.
