Seattle Children’s Research Institute is committed to inspiring and enabling the next-generation of scientists and healthcare workers by providing equitable points of access to recent innovations and treatments, cutting-edge technology, and connections with authentic researchers. To that end, the Science Education Department has cultivated a multitude of endeavors through SEPA and the NIH.
The aims of these programs are to build and maintain a pipeline of STEM learning from elementary through middle and high school. The Science Education Department has established a network of synapses at various points along this pipeline with the ultimate goal of directing today’s students into becoming the STEM professionals of tomorrow. These SEPA projects will enhance the training of the future research workforce by providing science curriculum that teaches students key science content and scientific and engineering practices, which will help to prepare them for careers in research.
