Kristin has over 20 years of experience in teaching and educational research. At Rockman et al, she primarily directs evaluation projects related to STEM education and is senior staff in charge of proposal writing and statistical modeling. She is actively involved in several evaluations for the National Institutes of Health’s Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) program, as well as projects within National Science Foundation’s Education and Human Resources division (AISL, ITEST, DRK–12). Her papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals and books, including Cell Biology Education-Life Sciences Education, the Journal of Science Education and Technology, and the Journal of the Learning Sciences. She has also produced a commissioned paper for the National Academy of Science, and technical reports for the National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards and Student Testing (CRESST).
Kristin has a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan. She also completed the Institute for Education Sciences’ (IES) Research Training Institute funded by Department of Education, where she received advanced training in experimental research design and statistical analysis, including power analysis and Hierarchical Linear Modeling. Prior to joining Rockman et al, Kristin was a postdoctoral fellow at the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Berkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a fan of childrens literature, physical fitness, and very bad puns.
